Mari Thomas

Mari Thomas is a Welsh contemporary designer jeweller with over 20 years experience. She has won numerous design awards including the Gold Medal for Craft and Design at the National Eisteddfod of Wales and recognition for her contribution to the arts in Wales, culminating in an honorary fellowship from the University of Wales Trinity St David.

Recognition of her successes has resulted in many prestigious commissions by some of the leading Welsh cultural institutions such as BBC Wales, National Eisteddfod of Wales, Wales Millennium Centre, National Library of Wales and the Welsh Rugby Union. Mari has also made the Urdd Eisteddfod crown and two National Eisteddfod of Wales crowns.

She has designed and delivered several pieces for leading Welsh advocates, such as Ioan Gruffudd, Catherine Zeta-Jones and the leading Welsh Male voice choir, Only Men Aloud and their musical director Tim Rhys-Evans.

Her jewellery has appeared on the pages of Vogue, Tatler and Hello. She exhibited nationally and internationally including London, Tokyo and New York.

Mari Thomas continues to be enthused by her passion for the design of contemporary jewellery, both drawing heavily on her Welsh heritage.
