National Eisteddfod of Wales

CHARITY COLLECTIONS AND WORK

As a Business we are proud to support the following charities with monthly donations

Latterly we supported the effort to help Ukrainians by making and donating three 18ct gold rings to raffle through the sale of tickets - all money raised went to the charity the Disasters Emergency Committee

EDUCATION

Mari is passionate about design, craftsmanship, the business of running a successful art and design company and supporting the arts and crafts industry. She has been an entrepreneurial role model for the Welsh Government's Big Ideas Wales and is a visiting lecturer in Carmarthen School of Art and Birmingham School of Jewellery where she also supports their Design for Industry Awards by offering free business mentoring to the prize winner.

She often engages with local schools recently supporting Ysgol Cymraeg Llangennech / Llangennech Welsh School by spending time with ages 7-11 on a progect teaching them metal working skills and the science behind the materials. She also often opens her gallery and workshop to schools and groups for educational talks.

OUR TEAM

As a trained jeweller and goldsmith Mari is proud to support a small dedicated team of jewellers in her workshop producing and working with her on her jewellery commissions and collections. The Gallery, in addition has trained and experienced gallery staff to help with all your enquiries.

The workshop is nestled inside Mari Thomas Gallery. It is on view and is a big part of the unique experience of visiting the gallery; peek through and you can see the jewellers at work making by hand Mari's collections, producing new bespoke commissions to restoring or repairing jewellery pieces.

Occasionally working with other specialists within the industry like casters and hand engravers, most are based in or around Birmingham's jewellery quarter, where Mari Thomas originally trained. It Is also the location of her hallmark (Birmingham Assay Office), we are proud to say that all the work is made in the UK.
